I've come across SEVERAL black individuals that have expressed a belief that they are truely "free from the system of white supremacy" which I maintain STILL exists (racism/white supremacy).
If they were truely this so why do they still use the THINKINGS of white supremacy to try and reach their goals and objectives? For instance, look at the english language...that IS white supremacy language at its finest most obvious form...why don't they create another language because they only reinforce the system with the use of WS lingo...for instance look at the word "black" and "white" even "cracker" where they not words CREATED by called white people to differenciate and seperate themselves from.
If you were really not enslaved to the system and not "white-washed" how can you fight for "black nationalism?". Why embrace a term used by white ppl to state that Even the concept of nationalism is and was developped by white people...the existance of "cut boundries" were developped by white people too. I do agree there should be unity of black people but perhaps people in general...but black nationalism isn't the way. It failed in the 60's and fails today for similiar reasons...it is done by the "thinking of white supremacy" that they attack and complain so much about. I agree I do have white-supremacy like thinking at times...at least I'd admit we have ALL been influenced by it...we DO live countries FOUNDED upon such an IDEOLOGY.
I believe the statement holds true "you cannot think outside the system in which you exist". Thus if MOST black nationalists (ANY RACE BASED nationalistic sentiment) TRUELY wanted to GET TRUELY HONESTLY AND SERIOUS they would all go to a REMOTE land and CLIMB A MOUNTAIN somewhere and take nothing with them...no books, no tv, no internet, no frozen foods...none of that. Because I see it AS THE ONLY WAY to accomplish the idea of a black "one nation under a groove". They have to ENTIRELY remove themselves completely if they want to "beat it".
Another problem I have is with black people NOT from African who walk around like they are BLACKER than black. Meaning they believe they are MORE African than African...they over exaggerate and EXTEND what it is being "black" and make themselves the "ambassador" of BLACK PEOPLE INTERNATIONAL. TRUE, many have an ABUNDANCE OF KNOWLEDGE OF Afrikan history but no need to have a FALSE SUPERIORITY COMPLEX LOL How can I or anyone respect people with this shakazulu mentality? Africans are and my ancestors were warriors!!! Most AREN'T now. We LIVE in the PRESENT, not the PAST and must UNDERSTAND WHAT IS DONE IS DONE. The past is VERY IMPORTANT for understanding today and the african/afrikan american people but don't dwell on it ALL THE TIME. Also African American should embrace their differences the FACT that you aren't AS connected to the MOTHERLAND as you like to CLAIM to be. That is okay. Why can't they be proud of both cultures in a sense?
